Location, location, location
New Zealand has an enormous diversity of vistas and scenes that can double for a myriad of other countries around the world. There are so many magnificent landscapes at our disposal with favourable weather conditions for most of the year. From majestic mountains, rolling green hills, luscious rain forests, expansive plains, high desert regions, magnificent fiords, beautiful beaches with turquoise waters and the small rural towns to the urban cities of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
The Four Seasons
Our seasons are the direct opposite of the Northern Hemisphere. Use your winter more efficiently by shooting in our summer! The warmest summer months being January, February and March. The snow season is most reliable between late June, July, August and into early September but each season can vary.
Quality and value
The advantages of shooting in New Zealand are not just geographical. At the moment the exchange rate of the New Zealand dollar against most foreign currencies is very favourable. Your dollar buys so much more which makes for very cost efficient film production.
Casting in New Zealand is becoming more diverse and offers affordable and negotiable talent buyouts.
New Zealand crews are some of the most professional, enthusiastic and pleasant people you could hope to have on a shoot. They are backed up by the best equipment available Panavision, Arriflex, Chapman, Fisher etc. If ever there is a piece of equipment that canšt be sourced, be sure that Kiwi ingenuity will step in to still make a shot work.
